Q 1.: How to maintain seamless slim tape hair extensions ?
A: To maintain seamless slim tape hair extensions and keep them looking their best, follow these tips:
-
Brush regularly: Gently brush your extensions at least twice a day using a wide-toothed comb or a brush designed for extensions. Start from the ends and work your way up to minimize pulling on the tapes. Regular brushing helps prevent tangling and keeps the hair smooth.
-
Avoid excessive heat: Limit the use of heat styling tools such as flat irons, curling irons, and blow dryers, as excessive heat can damage the hair and weaken the adhesive of the tapes. If you must use heat, apply a heat protectant spray and use low-to-medium heat settings.
-
Be cautious with products: Use hair care products that are specifically formulated for extensions and avoid those that contain sulfates, alcohol, or oils near the tapes. These ingredients can cause the tapes to loosen or break down. Opt for lightweight and extension-friendly products to keep the hair in good condition.
-
Sleep with care: Before going to bed, loosely tie your extensions into a braid or ponytail to prevent tangling while you sleep. Consider using a silk or satin pillowcase, as it reduces friction and helps maintain the smoothness of the hair.
-
Minimize exposure to water: While tape extensions can be washed, it's important to minimize unnecessary exposure to water. Avoid swimming in chlorinated or saltwater pools without protecting your hair. If you do get your extensions wet, gently towel dry and carefully detangle them afterward.
-
Stay away from tugging or pulling: Avoid pulling or tugging on the extensions, as this can cause the adhesive tapes to loosen or even pull out your natural hair. Be gentle when handling and styling the extensions.
-
Regular maintenance appointments: Schedule regular visits to a professional stylist who is experienced in tape hair extensions. They can check the condition of the tapes, reposition or replace them if needed, and provide guidance on proper care.
A:yes. The hair can be colored. As a general rule it is easier to darken the hair than to lighter the hair. We
highly recommend having your hairdresser dye the extensions, coloring them yourself always poses a high
risk of not coming out the shade you want. If you can not get to a salon, use a good quality hair dye and
test a small sample first please.
Q3. How to wash my hair?
A: Step 1: Detangle hair gently before washing. Comb your hair extensions with a spacious wired comb.
Step 2: With warm water gently wet the extensions. Put shampoo (Light Color Shampoo No Purple
Shampoo) with low or absolutely no sulphates on them.
Step 3: Rinse out the shampoo. Apply conditioner. For tape in hair extensions, don't put conditioner on
the tapes, which may cause the tapes to fall out easily. Once you've rinsed out the conditioner and
they've dried, comb through the extensions so they're not tangled.
Step 4: You can leave the extensions out in the air to dry.
Step 5: Do Not Rub or Twist hair when you wash them. Crush straight hair in a downward motion starting
with the ends, work your way up to the roots. Step 6: Hair may tangle if general care directions
are not followed properly.
Q4. How to install slim tape hair extensions?
A: To install slim tape hair extensions, you will need the following materials:
- Slim tape hair extensions: These are thin wefts of hair with a strip of adhesive tape attached.
- Sectioning comb or clips: Used to separate and hold your natural hair during the installation process.
- Scissors: To trim the extensions if necessary.
- Alcohol-based solution or remover: This is optional but can be used to remove any residue from the adhesive tape.
Here's a step-by-step guide on how to install slim tape hair extensions:
- Start by washing and drying your hair thoroughly. This will ensure that the extensions adhere properly.
- Section off your hair using a comb or clips. Create a horizontal parting about an inch above the nape of your neck.
- Take one of the tape-in extensions and remove the protective film from the adhesive tape.
- Place the extension onto the parted section of your hair, pressing it firmly against your scalp. Ensure that the extension is aligned with the parting and sits flat against your head.
- Take another section of your hair just above the first extension, making sure it is the same width as the extension. Repeat the process of applying the tape-in extension.
- Continue working your way up the back of your head, creating new partings and applying the extensions in a brickwork pattern.
- Once you reach the top of your head, start installing the extensions along the sides and front, following the natural curve of your head.
- After all the extensions are applied, gently press down on them to secure them in place.
- If needed, trim the extensions to blend with your natural hair.
- Style your hair as desired, and you're done!
Additionally, it's advisable to seek assistance from a professional hairstylist if you're unsure about installing the extensions yourself.
